Tims Berners Lee

what he did ??

A graduate of Oxford University, Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web, an internet-based hypermedia initiative for global information sharing while at cern, the European Particle Physics Laboratory, in 1989. He wrote the first web client and server in 1990

He is the creator of the World Wide Web. He originated the idea of sharing and organizing information from any computer system in any geographical location by using a system of hyperlinks (simple textual connections that "linked" one piece of content to the next) and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), a way that computers could receive and retrieve Web pages. Berners-Lee also created HTML (HyperText Markup Language), the standard programming language behind every Web page, as well as a URRL (Uniform Resource Locator) system that gave every Web page its unique designation.

tims berners lee story !!

Tim Berners-Lee was born in 1955 in London, England. His parents were both mathematicians, who worked on the Ferranti Mark I, the first computer to be sold commercially. Berners-Lee's childhood hobby was electronics. When he entered Queen's College at Oxford University in 1972, Berners-Lee chose to major in Physics, hoping to utilize his native talents in both scientific theory and practical application.

While at Oxford, Berners-Lee built his first computer. Soon after graduating in 1976, he became an independent software consultant.

Five years later, having gained experience in real-time data acquisition systems, he proposed that a global hypertext database be constructed in which every package of data would have a distinct "Universal Document Identifier" [UDI], which any network user could use to retrieve that data. Berners-Lee dubbed his project "the World Wide Web."
