Hello First Program Community,

Mr. Fejes, Ms. Stant, and Mr. Read have been busily preparing with the FP students for the Winter Concert. Parents are invited to join us on the afternoon of the 5th. Showtime begins at 2pm with an array of FP offerings: an Art exhibit, the grade 2 and grade 3 drama plays, and the FP Winter Concert. We look forward to seeing you there!

Music with Mr. Fejes
All grades have been hard at work preparing for our Winter Concert! The concert begins at 2 and we hope that you will come a bit early to see our students’ fabulous artwork as well.
This week, we have all been rehearsing in Dalton Hall. Check out the photos below!
Drama with Ms. Stant
The Drama students in Grade 2 and Grade 3 have been eagerly working on their upcoming productions for the Winter Concert.
The Grade 2 students will be performing “The Gingerbread Girl,” the classic story of an elderly couple’s wish to have a child gone awry when the gingerbread cookie in the oven comes alive. This play is sure to keep you laughing and smiling until the very last scene!
The Grade 3 students will be performing “A Brief Christmas Carol,” the classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge from Charles Dickens, “A Christmas Carol.” This story helps us all to remember what is important this holiday season, giving to others and spending time with loved ones.
We hope you can all make it out to the FP Winter Concert, this upcoming Thursday at 2 pm in Dalton Hall.
House
This week in FP House, students reviewed and reflected on growth mindset. In their house, they discussed the time when they demonstrated growth mindset and reviewed the phrases a growth mindset person would think and say. Following this activity, students learned about empathy. They had a great time looking for words and images that describe feelings such as sad, joy, confused, and excited.
Mathletes
CDS FP held our annual math tournament last Thursday. Noetic Math Tournament happens twice every year to encourage students' interest in math, to develop their problem solving skills, and to inspire them to excel in math. It was a terrific opportunity for students to experience creative math problems. CDS FP is proud of students who participated in this event!
