Aviator News
A weekly newsletter to keep our Mitchell families informed.
Dear Mitchell Families,
Thank you to all of our Mitchell Families who came to our first in-person Open House! Students were excited to showcase their accomplishments!
- Town Hall: The district will host a town hall meeting on June 5, 2023, at 6:00 PM, at Jane Addams Middle School to update the community on our response plan and to address commonly asked questions regarding school safety. Please click here to submit a question.
As we plan for 2023-2024 and seek input from students and staff about our school climate and safety in Lawndale, we also want to hear from our families. The California School Parent Survey (CSPS) is a short, anonymous survey that provides the following:
· A means to obtain parent perceptions about the school's learning
· School climate.
· Student supports
· Parent outreach and involvement.
Please take the survey from your child's school by clicking the link below.

Realizing Amazing Potential (RAP)
Realizing Amazing Potential (RAP) is the Lawndale Elementary School District’s before and after school program. The program expands & enhances classroom instruction for LESD students.
Where formal education ends, the RAP program begins. We create real world learning environments where students have opportunities to explore, engage, and develop significant life skills.
Students in TK - 8th grade can join our morning program from 6:45 AM - 8:30 AM and/or our afternoon program from school dismissal to 6:00 PM. Join today!

2023 Youth Day Parade Participants,
Many thanks to each of you for your participation in the 2023 Lawndale Youth Day Parade event on Saturday, April 22, 2023. The event included 50 entries and approximately 1,200 participants.
Overall the event was a massive success and we’re looking to build on the momentum established in 2023 to make 2024 an even bigger and more prestigious event in 2024.
Please see attached You Tube link to the Youth Day Parade and the Awards Ceremony video.
We’re looking forward to connecting with everyone in the late fall/early winter to begin planning for 2024.
Feel free to forward to your participants; they’ll likely get a thrill seeing themselves on video.
Enjoy!
