2020/21 Elementary Principal Update
November 29, 2020
Dear Parents,
Our teachers and support staff are amazing, too. They are working harder than ever. Those teaching via distance learning are finding ways to engage students while dealing with various Internet speeds and other issues that occur daily. They are finding ways to deliver virtual instruction and materials while also preparing work to distribute weekly, and they are finding ways to collect work and assess student learning. Those teachers who returned to school for Hybrid instruction have incredible, positive attitudes and are so helpful in keeping our students safe as they deliver in-person instruction.
We hope that you read the recent email from Wendy Sinnette about staying safe over this last week. For our Hybrid families who returned to campus, we ask the following:
1. If you traveled outside of the country, your child must quarantine for 14 days upon your return to the United States. Please monitor symptoms closely. Teachers will provide daily updates, and materials will be sent home or shared digitally.
2. If you traveled out of state or if you traveled within the state but attended a large gathering for Thanksgiving, we recommend that those children also quarantine for 14 days and that symptoms are monitored closely. Teachers will provide daily updates, and materials will be sent home or shared digitally.
These steps are important because they support our entire school community. As you know, if a student exposes a cohort, then the whole cohort needs to return to distance learning. In an effort to remain on campus, we all must do our part.
A question has been added to the daily screener (linked below) about travel. Please reach out to us if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Emily Blaney, LCE Principal
Cory Pak, PCR Principal
Carrie Hetzel, PCY Principal
