* Treasure Box Items--If you have any items to donate we would appreciate it!

* As the weather gets chilly, please make sure your student dresses appropriately and brings a jacket if needed. We will continue going outside for recess.

Language Arts:

Letter of the Week: Oo


Sight Word of the Week: is


Skills: Kindergartners are learning to write sentences along with making and confirming predictions.


Math:

Kindergartners are learning to solve word problems using objects and drawings to find sums up to 10 and differences within 10.


Homework:

Help your child draw a picture of a holiday or special event showing what is going on during that special time. Discuss how they used their senses during the holiday or event. Help them write, or write for them, the way they used their senses.

Decorate the College Week banner to represent your favorite college. See attachment for pennant/banner to print.

Mathews Spirit Prepares us for College: Wear Mathews Spirit Wear: Planning for success in learning and “Doing your Best” begins here.

Tuesday, 10th

My Future is Bright with College! Wear neon or bright colored clothes.

Wednesday, 11th

Final Stop Before College: Let’s show our Senior High School Spirit: Wear maroon and white (Wildcat colors), Plano West (Blue/Black), or Plano East (Black/Gold)colors.

Thursday, 12th

Remember to cross your “t’s” and dot your “i’s”! Wear polka dots and stripes.

Friday, 13th

College suits me to a “T”: Wear your favorite College T-Shirt Jersey, or School Colors to show you have a plan and are committed to learning and working hard.

Skill: Kindergartners are learning to identify main ideas and details.


Math:

$$$$Money, Money, Money$$$$. We will be learning to identify U.S. coins by name, including a penny, nickel, dime and quarter.


Homework:

MATH CGI Problem: There were 10 cats in the car. Six cats were adults and the rest were kittens. How many were kittens?

Please draw a picture to show how you solved the problem. Write a number sentence to match. Please remember to write your name.
