Special Education Program Parent Survey
Valued parents of students with disabilities,
The special education program is exploring ways to increase communication, training and involvement opportunities for families of students with disabilities, and we need your input. I know that you are very busy working and taking care of your family, but I encourage you to give us your voice by answering the thirteen (13) questions in this survey. We value parent input and want to know how the special education program is doing towards meeting you and your child's needs. PISD Middle School Soccer Tournament- Postponed
Upcycle Art Contest Winners
Congratulations to the winners of this year’s Earth Day Upcycled Art Contest, Lana Nguyen placed first in the Individual category for her “Steps to a Better World” Zen garden and Lucy Dieterlen and Ananya Chakravarthi placed first in the Group category for their “Hot Air Balloon” made of gum wrappers. Thanks so much to everyone who entered and participated in the contest to bring more awareness to preserving the Earth and recycling. The artworks will be on display in the library through next Friday, April 26. If your student is interested in doing more to celebrate Earth day they can join Student Council and the Environmental Club next Friday, April 26 after school for litter pick-up around our school. We will meet in E113, Mrs. Pilgrim’s room, right after school and finish around 4:30. See you there!
MMS Art Students- Congratulations!
Many MMS art students participated Saturday April 6th in the Regional Junior Vase Art competition which took place at Lebanon Trail High school in Frisco. Of the 20 students that participated 19 received a score of 4, and were awarded medals for their amazing artwork. Out of our 19 medal award winners 5 students were additionally awarded Platinum medals, the highest award of the competition!!! Our platinum award winners were Teresa Burgess for Division 1, and Lynlee Deans, Madeline Davis, Jack Ezelle, and Callie Willis for division 2.
We would like to thank and congratulate all the students who participated they did an awesome job.Thank you Ms. Anetopoulos and Mr. Adams for the work you do with the MMS students.

MMS Athletics- Cross Country
Anyone interested in participating in Cross Country needs to make sure that they have all of their paperwork completed, a physical on file with the school, and a practice schedule. If you have any further questions or if you are interested in participating Cross Country please see Coach Woodyard as soon as possible. Practices will be before or after school at 7:30 am or 3:40 pm on the dates designated on the practice schedule.
PESH Spring Football Showcase
The Plano East Spring Football Showcase will be held Thursday May 9th at Kimbrough Stadium from 4:30 – 9:30 pm. You can pre-order admission and meal tickets before May 3rd and save Money. If you pre-order Admission is $6 for Adults, $3 for kids (over 4 years old), and $6 for a meal (chick-fil-a sandwich, chips, & water). Tickets and meal cost at the gate will increase by $2, with meals being sold until they run out. This is a huge fundraiser for our Plano East Football Booster Club. There will also be a designated Murphy Middle School section in the stands, so we would love to see all of our Murphy Family fill this section up to show how much we appreciate and support the EASTSIDE. An order form has been attached or you can pick up one from Coach Woodyard.
Plano East Golf Tryout Announcement 2019-2020
If you are interested in trying out for the Plano East Golf Team next year, there is a MANDATORY Parent/Athlete meeting at Plano East in the cafeteria on Thursday, May 9th at 6:30 pm. Tryouts will be held on Monday July 29th and Tuesday July 30th at Pecan Hollow beginning at noon.

Looking for a fun camp this summer? Come work with the Academy High School Robotics Team and the Plano Senior High School Robotics Team to learn about engineering and problem solving by having fun at this hands-on camp!
Summer is not only about good weather, it’s also about great ROBOTS! Titan Robotics and Chain Reaction Robotics will be hosting the NTX Camps of Engineering that will give you an opportunity to build, solve problems and create using LEGO® Mindstorms, and complete a variety of other engineering challenges.
