Claires Court Bulletin
FROM THE HEADS OF SIXTH FORM
Year 13 Leavers' Assembly
In beautiful sunshine we bid farewell to Year 13. The leavers' assembly was enjoyed by all and was followed with a barbeque and farewell icecream! The students had a great time.
It has been a pleasure to have had these young men and women here in the school. We wish them all the very best for the future and success in their examinations.
EXAMINATION START TIMES
Preview for Rowing Quad Championships
Alex Richardson has provided the following extract from the Quad Championship preview:
Whilst no club were able to dominate the Junior Quad during the head season, Claires Court have certainly had the strongest start to their domestic regatta season. Their most impressive performance so far this season certainly came at Nottingham City, in which they beat rivals Windsor Boys and Leander in a time of 6:13, only one second slower than the National School’s record. This, coupled with a reasonably comfortable victory at Wallingford, suggests that if anyone is going into the regatta as favourites it’s these boys. The school will look to build on their domestic success, and a boat comprised of experienced triallists and fully fledged internationals has given Claire’s Court an excellent chance to take the gold medal here.
SIXTH FORM SUMMER BALL
The Sixth Form Summer Ball this year will be on Thursday 30 June, from 7:30 to 11:30pm at Lillibrooke Manor, Ockwells Road, Cox Green, Maidenhead SL6 3LP.
This year the event will also include a two-course meal. Exact timings and menu details have not yet been finalised but it promises to be a very exciting evening.
There are still a number of students who have not paid their subscriptions and, to help fund the meal, we are asking for an additional £5. If any students are unsure if they have paid or want clarification on how much they owe, please speak to Mr Crawley. Please make any cheques payable to ‘Claires Court Sixth Form Social Club’.
Summer Fete on Saturday 25 June
This year the theme of our fete is 'The Great Outdoors', a theme inspired by the allotment and bushcraft projects the PTA have recently supported. If you, or anyone you know, would like to take a stall at this year’s event please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are also looking for a number of raffle prizes. If you are able to contribute something please contact me at the same address.
