Principal's Note
In addition, our new sound system will be installed at PVES next week. Thank you again to the PTO and families who donated money during last year's Color Run in order for this purchase to happen. A special shoutout to Jamie Czarapata who organized the Color Run and spent hours of her own time making the event a success. We are looking forward to testing the new system at our PTO movie night on February 22 and our 1st-3rd grade concert on Monday, March 11.
No School on February 20th

Special Report - Art Classes - Mrs. Engelking
Most classes have been working hard on their pieces for the annual art show. We’ve been painting, cutting, glazing, and constructing. Fifth and sixth graders are just beginning their unit in glass fusing. The art of glass fusing involves taking pieces of glass and layering them to create interesting compositions. The artist needs to think about color, shape, size, and opacity. After the layers are glued together, the glass piece is fired in a kiln and at a certain temperature, the glass melts and becomes one piece. Students will have the option of making a magnet, pendant, or decoration. If you have a student in fifth or sixth grade, please sign and return the glass fusing permission slip by Monday, February 11th.

ANNUAL ART SHOW
This year, the Prairie View Annual Art Show will be on Monday, April 8th, from 4:30-7:00. Please mark your calendars! Get ready to be amazed because the theme this year will be Sweet Treats. Students are super excited about this theme and have been working very hard.
2nd Grade
For our theme this year, Prairie View students are the ingredients to our recipe for success, Second Grade has focused on kindness. We have read books, watched movies, and completed activities centered around kindness. Around Christmas, we exchanged a “Gift from the Heart.” This was a gift that was handmade for a fellow classmate.
