Cougar Reminders
WELCOME TO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR!
Parents’ Place for Palermo’s Updates
Hay Families,
As each day passes our staff is getting better prepared for our students’ return. The energy and focus in the building is extremely encouraging. Our teachers at CHWS have been preparing for the best possible instructional experience while keeping our kids safe. The logistical considerations and safety parameters, combined with our instructional beliefs, certainly poses a complex challenge, but is bringing the best out in our teachers. The creativity and innovative thought that our teachers are putting into their planning centers the student experience on relationships and the highest quality IB instruction. I have always been impressed with our teachers' commitment to the whole child and this unique challenge has certainly been yet another example of how special the experience at Hay has been, and will continue to be this year.
There have been a number of staffing changes to adjust for the Englewood eLearning and CHWS in-person learning choices. Our classroom teaching staff is as follows:
Kindergarten- Amanda Rivera & Nikole Calmeyn
1st Grade- Hannah Sutton & Jen Grady
2nd Grade- Alyssa Mertens & Lucas Savela (New to Hay)
3rd Grade- Libby Bucher & Lara Iaderosa
4th Grade- Stephanie Guerra & Ashley Glenn
5th Grade- Gen Pino & Ryan Kelley
6th Grade- Katie Barkstrom
Class lists have been created! Monday you will find out what class your student/s will be in. Teacher will reach out to you with the following:
Introduction
Assessment Days plans
Drop off and Pick up Protocols (This has been adjusted since the last update shared with you.)

Your CHWS team continues to work relentlessly in preparation for our return. More information is coming Monday from your teachers and as always I will share more updates a week from today.
