From Dr. Kristina Nicosia

January 2023

Dear Highland Park Family,

Reflecting on the first half of the school year, I am so proud of what we have accomplished together as a community. We are staying true to our commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and achievement of excellence. This can be highlighted in the most recent board meeting in which the Board of Education approved the change in school start times for all four buildings to ensure that students at the middle and high school can get later start times. The decision came from the combined efforts of teachers, support staff, the HPEA leadership, members of the board of education and administrators. I am so proud to be part of a wonderful team and community!

Speaking of supporting the students, the Senior Class (Class of 2023) is hosting a Krispy Kreme donut fundraiser to raise money for their senior events (Project Graduation and Senior Trip). This is such a great way to treat your colleagues, family members or friends to a delicious snack while helping our students! Click here to view the flyer with more information and the order form. I will speak for the seniors to say that they appreciate your help!

Very truly yours,

Dr. Nicosia

Highland Park High School has earned the College Board's AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award for expanding young women's access to AP Computer Science A (CSA). We are only one of 209 schools that are recognized for achieving important results towards equal gender presentation in the 2021-2022 school year. Thank you to AP Computer Science teacher, Mr. Michael Moore, for his continued dedication and leadership in diversifying computer science education. Congratulations!
