AIM High School Cell Phone Policy
Dear AIM Families,
Today in Advisory class, students watched and were introduced to AIM's cell phone policy.

The purpose of the policy is to help students learn to manage appropriate cell phone use.
Expectations:
1. Phone is away during instructional class time, and study hall work time. Signaled by a red or green sign.
2. Comply with reasonable staff requests
3. Phone to be used for legitimate academic purpose only.
3 Strike Rule:
1. Student directed to put phone away and out of sight
2. Student places phone in cell phone locker
3. Phone is held by administration until end of day and parent contact is made.
How can you help support your student?
A. Set boundaries with your student about texting or calling during the school day. If there is an emergency, call the office at: 360-563-3400.

ASVAB Test
ASVAB Test is coming to AIM! It’s no too late to sign up!!
Before choosing a career, you need to spend some time finding out about you. Whether you are planning to go to college, a vocational school, or the Military, or you are just not sure what you want to do yet, the ASVAB CEP can provide you with important information about your skills and interests—and help get you on the right path toward a satisfying career. for more information: Click here
If you are an 11th or 12th grader and did not pass your SBA assessment last year, this is another way to demonstrate proficiency in ELA and Math for your Graduation Pathway requirement. See Elizabeth if you have questions.
Who: 10th, 11th, and 12th graders
When: November 8 at 8:00 for AM students and 11:30am for PM students.
Where: Fireside Room
How long: About 90 minutes

- The National Apprenticeship Week Celebration is on November 17th at the Sno-Isle Tech Skills Center from 4-7 pm. Apprenticeships are a combination of structured, paid on-the- job training plus college-level classroom instruction. Come out and meet 20+ apprenticeship organizations. Enjoy free food and hands-on activities for all ages. Apprenticeships provide family livable wages jobs starting at $19 - $30 hourly, plus benefits and pensions.

- The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the application colleges use to determine eligibility for federal, state, and college-sponsored financial aid, including grants, educational loans, and work-study programs. The FAFSA application for next year is available to complete starting on October 1st. It is important to complete the application as soon as possible. Go to: fafsa.gov

- Are you interested in taking college courses? Running Start is a great, FREE option to enroll in college courses while you are still in High School, earning you both college and high school credit. - 988 is now active. 988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (now known as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) and is now active across the United States. When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary.
- It is now FREE to ride the Community Transit, ages 13-18. An ORCA card is not necessary to utilize this free service, but is encouraged, and can be obtained by contacting Derek (360-563-3408 or derek.degroot@sno.wednet.edu)
