The capital of Syria is Damascus.

The meaning behind the flag of Syria: " A horizontal tricolor of red, white, and black; charged with two green stars at the center. The current flag was first adopted in 1958 to represent Syria as part of the United Arab Republic, and was used until 1961. it was re-adopted in 1980."

Religion and Culture

Most of Syria is Muslim. To be exact, 90% of Syria is Muslim, and 10% is Christian, 16% is another Muslim. The main language that is spoken in Syria is Arabic. French and English are spoken in small numbers. One holiday that is celebrated in Syria but not in America is End of Ramadan, in which this is celebrated on July 7th.
