Tech-Tip Tuesday
Hutto ISD's Maker Movement
Over the past two years, the CITs have helped integrate makerspace type activities into classrooms with paper circuits, 3D design, LittleBits, scratch coding, etc.
A makerspace is a collaborative workspace inside a school, library, or separate public/private facility for making, learning, exploring, and sharing that uses both high and no-tech tools. These spaces can be open to kids, adults, and entrepreneurs and have a variety tools and supplies to create and make! (Makerspaces.com)

MakerSpace Coming to a School Near You!
Get Excited! The librarians and CITs are teaming up to bring the maker movement to more students in Hutto ISD! Students will be able to create, invent, and explore once per month during their library time, and most campus CITs are organizing maker space type activities into lessons in the classrooms and for an after school maker space club.

Jill Touchstone
Using VR Goggles and a YouTube 360 video, Ms. Touchstone, a 2nd grade teacher at CCE, took her students on a virtual field trip inside a beehive!! They're currently learning how to help bees and teach our community about bees in their PBL project.
Nicole Pina
Nicole's 2nd grade class at Ray Elementary tried out Learning.com today! They worked on skills like keyboarding and using a mouse. Her students were so engaged in the self-paced lessons!
Janet Chandler
Janet Chandler, a kindergarten teacher at Ray Elementary, took her students on a trip to the San Diego Zoo! They learned about the giraffe, elephant, rhino and polar bear! Her kiddos were amazed and had a blast!
