MESSAGE FROM MRS. ROBERTSON
Unfortunately, our celebrations have also come along with some challenges as we address the impact of positive COVID-19 cases. The administrative team is committed to keeping the community informed related to these cases and contact tracing as outlined by FCPS. We ask that if your child presents with any of the symptoms outlined in the "Response to COVID-19 Symptoms" that you do not send your child to school until symptoms no longer exist or you have seen a doctor to determine that the symptoms are not related to COVID. This step will support us in limiting the need to quarantine students due to being in close contact with a positive case. The need to quarantine impacts the ability for students to access in-person learning and make connections with others and for families the financial impact can be devastating. Together we can do this! Together we will succeed!
Yours in education,
Kimberly Robertson

ON THE LOOK OUT FOR LION LEADERS
Lion Leaders will be recognized using the "Habits of Work" which include: perseverance, self advocacy, social responsibility and learner agency. Classroom teachers will be teaching and supporting students daily as they develop an understanding of the "Habits of Work". These HoW will be reflected on your child's report card as well as our way of recognizing the amazing students as they grow in these areas! You can find copies of the blue communication cards for your reference with explanations of each Habit of Work by clicking the links below.
Grades Pre-k - 1 HoW Communication
Grades 2 - 5 HoW Communication
What can I do to help?
Please discuss these concepts with your child at home. Reinforce how developing these good habits of work are ultimately the foundations of academic and social success. Celebrate your child when they receive a Lion Leader Award from staff at school for demonstrating effort in these areas.
We can't do this work without your support! Thank you!
VOLUNTEERS AND VISITORS
At this time, FCPS has asked that we do not have visitors in schools. Lunch with your child is not permitted at this time.
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!
Get involved in our children's learning this year.
Parents, family, alumni, and community members alike that are interested in supporting
our school this year can volunteer in many ways!
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you must complete a short training and registration process as a first step.
We will then connect you with volunteer opportunities to help serve our students and school.
We can't wait to have you on board with us!
