Principal Ponderings: The Room
When I attend MEMSPA events, I'll frequently hear the phrase "the smartest person in the room is the room." I didn't quite grasp the true meaning of the concept until I started making solid connections with people within MEMSPA and began collaborating on projects and presentations. The smartest person in the room is the room, because everyone brings something to the table and when you are in the room with people doing amazing things it inspires and motivates a call to action for oneself. This is in line with the Tweet of the Week. There are great things going on daily at LMS and everytime one of you seeks to raise the bar or go above and beyond you are making the room smarter.

Two Resources Worth Sharing
"The more frequently you integrate these strategies into the learning and teaching as routines, the more habitual they will become for students. When this happens, you will be building students’ social, emotional and character development in ways that will nourish and create positive habits in their interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships."
"Strong relationships can prime a person to learn. And for those who have adverse childhood experiences, strong relationships can mitigate the negative effects of trauma. Schools organized with relationships as a priority can benefit children in many ways."
