How will our book study work?
The expectation for covering the chapters will be:
September - Chapter 1
October - Chapter 2 & 3
November - Chapters 4 and 5
December - Chapters 6
January - Chapters 7 & 8
February - Chapters 9, 10 and 11
Please decide on two people to lead your group by September 7th and give me the names and I will meet with you during planning or before or after school to give you the study guide and discuss what each group needs to do.
BEAR FAIR - Thursday Sept. 13th
Please take time every day as we approach our Bear Fair to get the kids excited about coming! If we can make enough money our playground can be a reality by next semester. It will all depend on attendance and interest in what we are doing. I put all the information for parents in the Bailey Bear News that was sent out last week!
Thanks for your help!
Cindy
ALL GRADES FOR INTERIMS NEED TO BE ENTERED BY SEPTEMBER 12TH!!!
ENGAGEMENT - FOUR ESSENTIAL INGREDIENTS
Expectations - Lay a strong foundation by setting your expectation for academics and behavior - Set them high and don't accept less!
Environment - Establish an environment that is relevant to your students, reflects their interests and yours, promotes learning, and is both visually and emotionally appealing!
Energy - You determine the energy in the room the minute they come through the door! Be careful that you don't lack focus or purpose in getting the day started or that will be reflected in your students!
Empowerment - Build strong relationships with them and with each other and Give them ownership of learning through the instructional strategies you use!
Grant Opportunities
- Teacher Grant Opportunities – Both the Collierville Education Foundation and the Collierville 20th Century Club are currently accepting applications for classroom grants. Click on the links below for additional information. If you plan to apply, please be sure that you have completed the steps required by Collierville Schools.
Sick Bank - All classified personnel are welcome to come and listen to Cecelia Booker present info on Sick Bank at BSE on Thursday, Sept. 6th at 7:30am
- Employee Sick Bank – Commissioner McQueen has approved the district’s application to establish a sick leave bank this fall for all Collierville Schools employees. See the attached flyer for preliminary information. Our Human Resources staff will visit all the schools in the coming weeks with additional details.
If you are a classified employee and want to hear more about sick bank you are welcome to come and listen to Cecelia Booker present the information on Sept. 6th at 7:30 in the library. If you are a teacher you are required to be at the meeting as it will also include Ethics training that is required by the board.
Take a moment and read through the articles or blogs that I have looked at this past week! Maybe one will be of interest to you!
Please look over the calendar as dates change and meetings change all the time!
