Message Mr. Mike
Maria Montessori Academy Family (teachers, assistants, staff and faculty)-
We are truly a family.
In the hypothetical situation that there is a hard closure going to happen, we do not know when this will take place. We as a school are trying to be proactive in case this takes place as well as keep our school clean for when we return.
Moving forward if we move into a hard closure, until further notice, we do not know as of yet what this will look like in regards to continuing education, at this time we only know that it means there will be ABSOLUTELY NO Access to the building.
If you have noticed that your students have not logged on, or have not picked up packets by TODAY, please, please, please contact your parents by phone! Some of you may have to try emergency contacts. If you need help finding contact informations, we'll do what we can to help provided you the information.
If you are in JH we suggest doing this by advisor.
Delivery of Academic Instruction for the NEXT TWO Weeks
SOFT CLOSURE for another two weeks (not including Spring Break)
This was a plan delivered from the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. This plan is for this coming week and the week after spring break. We suggest and encourage since you already have a plan in place for this week to make plans for the two weeks following spring break. During spring break there is no expected contact between school and home.
We would like to continue with the procedures that we have already put in place for all levels. EC packets, LE (blog), UE (packets/ Google Classroom) and JH (Canvas/ hard copies).
There will be a message going out to parents that we will continue to communicate with them as we continue to get direction from the state and updated academics will be the direction per level from last week.
If each level would like would like to draft a new level for parents that Ms. Nicoletta can send via Aspire by the end of this week (Thursday at 4:00) this would be fantastic. Please send Ms. Nicoletta the email that each team creates by Thursday 4:00 to send. The MMM will communicate to parents they will receive these emails via Aspire by myself on Friday by 12:00.
We are still in soft closure- please remember no groups larger than 10, 6 feet apart and PLEASE do not bring others into the building, if you need to bring your children this is fine but only if absolutely necessary. You are more than welcome to be creative of how you meet as levels to determine the delivery of academics.
THANK YOU for all that you do. I miss all of you SO much!
Ms. Nicoletta
Messages that come from Ms. Autumn and Ms. Amanda
I hope you are all doing well during these times of unknowing. If there are any messages from Autumn or Amanda, please know that this has been discussed extensively with Mr. Mike and Ms. Nicoletta and the message is concrete.
We are sorry if there has been any confusion in regards to this prior to this email. Again, especially with the times that we are in today, it is especially important that we know this moving forward.
Thank you for all of your hard work during this time of Distant Learning, it is very impressive to see how we are able to do this and most important doing it TOGETHER!
Thank you,
Mr. Mike and Ms. Nicoletta

Allen Family
Hello. I hope this email finds you and your families well during this very interesting and crazy time. I want to let you know how much we truly appreciate all that you have done for each of your students and their families. I admire your hard work, dedication and the extra time and care you have put into preparing lessons, packets, emails and communication for each of our students and their families. I am so thankful for the individual thought that you have put into considering each of our children and what their needs are during this time of unexpected transition and adjustment for all. I know that you can only do this because you know each of your students as individuals. Thank you also for being so available and open to communication so I can be on the same page as to how we can best help our son to feel good, keep learning and working toward his continued education and goals while balancing our work and other family needs.
I also want to take a moment to acknowledge that all that you are doing for each of our children and families is during a time that is also very stressful in your own homes and families and you have been coming away from your own needs to create in a very short and rushed period of time a program and plan that is general enough to meet the needs of all of our students and individual enough to help each child and home be successful if they are willing and able to participate. Thank you for all of the extra efforts and sacrifices you make on a daily basis and especially now in the face of the unexpected and unknown.
I hope you know how much we care for each of you and think of you and your families. We hope & pray that all is well and will continue to be so for you and your families and that you will be able to continue on with good health, strength and be blessed with the things you and your families are in need of during this unique challenging time. I look forward to the hind-site that will inevitably come (hopefully sooner rather than later!), where we can look back and remember how crazy this time was and know that all was well and we supported one another as a community, as a people and as friends.

Message from Mr. Mike to MMA Families
Dear Parents,
What an incredible two weeks. We have deployed a whole new style of instruction to our MMA Community under a state mandate. You as parents and students have been wonderful to work with.
It has been amazing to see our teachers quickly come together and develop online learning and make adaptions for students that may not have the capability to work online by collating packets and having them ready for pick up.
The current mandate for school dismissal or soft school closure was made Friday, March 13 and will be re-evaluated before or by Friday, March 27. We will keep you posted.
In the meantime, the Utah State Board of Education voted to suspend all standardized testing for the school year 2019-2020. They also voted to amend calendar requirements for school days for this year. Spring Break is still scheduled for March 30 – April 3. No contact with the school will be needed for online or packets. Again, we will keep you posted on further developments.
Our best way to contact you is through our one call system. Most of the time, the messages to your phone we send will refer you to your email for a more detailed account of the current standing for school.
