The Seed Drill

The seed drill is a large, wooden, hand pushed machine.

Uses of the seed drill & its impact too society.

This machine allowed seeds to be easily planted deep in the earth instead of on top were they could get washed or blown away .
It also allowed the farmers to plan their crops in neat rows.

The seed drill made growing plants an easier and faster process.
It also allowed for larger farms.

Jethro Tull

Jethro Tull was an English pioneer from Berkshire. He helped bring about the agricultural revolution. Jethro invented the seed drill in 1701, and later invented a horse-drawn hoe. Jethro's methods helped form the basis of modern agriculture.

Fun Fact:
The rock band Jethro Tull was named after him.
