"Where it's always a good day to be a Bison!"
News from Mrs. Marlatt!
At Second Creek, we believe in positive interactions with students. We subscribe to the idea that pointing out the POSITIVE creates more positive interactions. One way we do this is by teaching out students to be Bison S.T.R.O.N.G. (Safety, Teamwork, Respect, Ownership, Never Give Up and Gratitude). Staff teaches these concepts and students are rewarded with positive Bison Bucks whenever they are showing these positive behaviors. (If you have been at Second Creek for a while, you might remember this as R.O.C.K.S. Behavior.)
On Friday, we will celebrate students who have shown excellence in Safety with our Bison Strong Parade. Staff has nominated students for this special celebration, and the digital parade is ready to go! Students will be celebrated in class and throughout the school as students watch a video that highlights a student from each class. Now that you know about Bison Strong, you can ask your student about it at home.

Please Help Keep our Students and Staff Safe!
We continue to have issues dropping off and picking up students. PLEASE SLOW DOWN! The max. speed in the "Hug and go" lane is 5 miles per hour. We want at all cost to avoid a serious accident in our parking lot.
- Please leave the handicap parking for those with handicap licenses.
- Please obey the cones! They are there for everyone's safety! Please do not go around them. Be patient.
- The front of the school is not for parking. It is a "hug and go" lane, and buses must be able to drive through in order to pick up students.
- If you drive the inner circle PLEASE don't let you child out until you have turned into the parking area.
- Many parents park on the side streets and walk over to our school to either drop off or pick up students. This is a safe option.
- Officers will be at Second Creek at dismissal to help us keep our students safe.
Please remember our staff is doing our best to keep everyone safe. If they ask you to move, please move. If they point something out to you, it is because we see an issue with safety. We are doing our best and we appreciate you working with us.

Parent-Teacher Connections (Conferences)
October is dedicated for Parent-Teacher Connections. You will hear from your classroom teacher as he/she connects with you about your child's leaning. If you have met with your child's teacher, or had a recent IEP meeting to support your child, you might not need an additional meeting. Your classroom teacher will be in touch. All connections will be online or by phone this year, as we continue to try and minimize Covid exposures. Let the celebration of leaning begin!
