Principal's Message
September was a remarkable month, and we are here to embrace October and the months ahead. Our students and staff have had some time to get to know one another and are creating a positive learning community. We've had two Flag Gatherings and a successful Back to School Night.
As we move into the month of October, we will be screening our students in the area of reading, math, and social and emotional learning. This screening will help guide our instruction and build support where needed as we move forward.

Introducing Our Amazing School Counselors and Military Counselors
Ms. Villa and Ms. McCulley have visited all our classrooms and taught students and teachers about Zones of Regulation. The Zones of Regulation curriculum incorporates Social Thinking . This framework is designed to help students move toward more independent regulation while honoring and respecting each student and their unique self.
They have also conducted playground safety assemblies to review Bard's playground norms and expectations.
For students who don't enjoy the playground environment and prefer playing board games, card games, or a quiet place during lunch recess, a school counselor-hosted Fun Zone will be available October 16 for up to 20 students.
