Sports Updates - Fall Sports Re-Cap!
Cross Country: Had a good showing in CIF with two runners qualifying for the state meet in Fresno, Landon Mullins came in 68th (our of 210 runners) and Abigail Hundley came in 65th (out of 203 runners). Another highlight of the season is when Cole Mullins won our division at the Mt. Sac Invitational.
Girls Tennis: Girls won the Western League and qualified for the OPEN division of CIF which means we are one of the top eight teams in the county. Additionally it was an all Coronado doubles team finals within our league with Marla Steel and Alejandra Gonzalez edging out Ellie Johnson and Ana de la Lama. Finally to top the season off our entire team qualified for the CIF individual championships.
Boys Waterpolo: The boys had a fine showing in what is the BEST league in the county and also played some of the best teams in the nation. The team played well enough to qualify for the OPEN championship – again one of the top eight teams in the county. Also of note is that seniors Calvin Peckham and Carols Morales qualified for the senior all-star game.
Girls Volleyball: Girls played in a touch Eastern league with most teams that are Division II while we are Division III. They knocked off several higher ranked teams in the second round of league play and ended up losing in the quarterfinals in CIF play.
Football: The team came in 2nd in league play and lost in the quarterfinals of CIF Division IV play-offs. In both cases they lost to Serra High School which ended up winning the league and CIF titles so a great showing.
Girls Golf: The team cam in 2nd in our league but more impressive was their 2nd place finish in the CIF team competition. Additionally Crista Izuzquiza and Mary Damien qualified for the regional championships where Izuzquiza tied for 1st place she then went on to place 3rd in the State Tournament at Pebble Beach.

PTO Celebrates Teachers
During this holiday season we are excited to show the incredible teachers and staff at CHS our love and gratitude for all they do throughout the year. With your help, we will deliver a $10 gift card and jar of holiday spice tea to each teacher and staff member. To celebrate the entire CHS staff, we’ll need lots of participation. Your contribution in any $10 increment will allow us to purchase gift cards and tea for the whole Coronado High School team.
