Go Fourth!!!
News & tidbits from Holy Rosary 4th Grade
January 12, 2016
Good Afternoon Parents!
I am not sure whether our field trip, tentatively planned for Monday, the 25th is going to fly. I have heard back from 4 out of the 13 students' families and so far we have:
*1 confirmed driver
*1 potential driver
*4 students okay to go - $5.00
I need at least two more confirmed drivers for us to be able to go. I will be communicating with the zoo tomorrow to let them know our final answer. Please let me know if you are able to help us out driving on the 25th! It'll be a great day if we can go.
Tomorrow, January 13, is a half day/noon dismissal. Please plan accordingly. The teachers will be working hard during our professional development training day; working in particular with our lesson planning and state standards.
If you hadn't heard yet, our fourth grade won the human Christmas Tree Contest. Hurray! We'll be celebrating our victory with Mrs. H during P.E. class on Friday - having pizza.
Catholic Schools week is approaching quickly, February 1-5 here at Holy Rosary. There will be quite a few things going on this week, so here are some details for the Spirit Days to dress up on and events to participate in:
Monday: Pajama Day
Tuesday: Sports Day
Wednesday: Flip-Flop Day (students dressing up as teachers; teachers dressing up as HRRS students)
Thursday: Grandparents Day ~ full uniform for Mass
Friday: Color Wars Assembly (4th Grade got green this year ~yes!, my favorite color). Bible/Religion Trivia contests among grade levels will be going on as well.
Monday, January 15th ~ No school- in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
We are working on 2-digit multiplication in our math this week. Ask your child about the rivers in Washington State, one of our current topics in Social Studies. Science is focused on Day & Night, what cases both, words related to the topic- including rotation, revolution, terminator, axis, etc.
Have a great afternoon/evening...and please let me know about our field trip driving possibilities!
