Ring Leader Tidbits
~This is our LAST week before spring break, and it's a busy one! Please make sure to read below, so that you know all the important information taking place.
~ Shout out to Emily for organizing the headphones in the computer lab and creating the clipboard where you can "note" any computer issues. This makes it so much easier to identify the needed issues, when the specific computer and concern is listed. Shout out to Kelly Clower for already using the clipboard and noting the computer concern!
~ I would like to welcome Jodey Harmon to our Elkins staff as a permanent sub in the copy room. She has taken on the role for the remainder of the year, and she will be learning the "ropes" and becoming familiar with all the processes and procedures. She should have an email coming, and I will let you all know AS SOON AS it's available! Make sure to stop in and say hi!
~ Speaking of headphones. Kathleen has replaced the 4 missing headphones in the computer lab and all are labeled with the coordinating computer. We REALLY need the others back, so if you have them or have seen them, please let us know.
~ We have the Cliburn musical performance tomorrow. They have separated the performance into 3 separate assemblies (one for each grade 2-4). I thought the performance was for 3-5, but the email they sent said 2-4, so I apologize for the confusion. I have put 2nd grade during your conference, though, so it shouldn't affect planning. I have listed the times below.
4th grade will go first to allow for TELPAS testing later in the morning.
8:30- 4th grade
9:05- 3rd grade
9:40- 2nd grade

~ Open House is this Thursday! I can't wait to see all the students showing off their progress to their families. Remember to keep a sign in sheet/log, so that you can turn that into us! The class with the MOST visitors will win 2 dozen donuts!! Remember that Open House this year will be focused on data and student-led conversations. Students will walk their parents through their data and tell them about their goal setting!
~ It's that time of year again for Elks of the Month. Please send me your name of your Feb. Elk of the month by this Wednesday! It snuck up on me, so we are a little late! Also, if you can fill out and get that form to me, as well, I will have Mrs. Harmon get those hung in the hallway.
~ I sent an email with a reminder about spring break shut down procedures. Make sure you unplug and shut everything off before you leave on Friday.
~ I will be sending grade level meeting invites for our SLO checkpoint meetings. I have already scheduled a few, but please make sure you are keeping track of your data and are ready to look it over and discuss the progress your students are making toward their individual SLO. I will be scheduling each grade level meeting once we return from break. We will have all grade levels completed before the end of the week of April 1st.
~ I will begin doing our 2nd semester walk throughs and observations this week. If Kathleen or I walk in, just continue on about your instruction and pretend that we aren't there. :)
