Meeting ID: 884 6354 7476

Passcode: 883358

Grades 2-5 will meet on Zoom at 7:15 PM. Please use this Zoom link.

Meeting ID: 826 3235 9705

Passcode: 813806

Mrs. Weiss will be reading the story Balloons Over Broadway about the origin of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon floats. After the story, families will be invited to create their own parade balloon using balloons, wooden dowels and paper scraps as a fun follow-up activity. Families will be invited to post a picture of their completed balloon creations on a shared Padlet link for our very own balloon parade! Please have your balloon creation picture posted by 11/19. We’ll share the completed Padlet in the Panda Prints newsletter on 11/20.

What you’ll need:

  1. Parade balloon kit (a few assorted balloons and wooden dowels). You may pick up a kit at Sherwood Monday or Wednesday from 8:00-4:00 or after the event on Thursday or Friday. The kits will be in a basket in the office vestibule. Please help yourself to one kit per child or family.

  2. Additional art supplies: Markers, paper scraps or any craft items you may want to add to your balloon creation.

Another option: you may design your balloon on paper and color it and share the photo on Padlet as well.

Big SHOUT OUT to Mrs. Weiss for putting this together! Her hard work and dedication to our community is greatly appreciated.

We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Stay safe!

Panda Pride,

Rachel & Kevin

NEW! Curbside Library Book Pick-Up Open To All Sherwood Families

For parents who are interested in picking up library books for their child during the duration of our remote learning, please follow these steps:

  1. Students in grades 3-5 can continue to put books on “hold” through our Destiny Discover app which they access through Clever. I will receive a message informing me which books they have put on hold and will put the books aside for them for pick-up. Students may also email me directly to request a book any time!
  2. Students in grades K-2 can browse our Destiny online catalog with their parents' help and email me any requests for books they’d like to borrow. Choose Sherwood from the list of schools and click “Catalog”
  3. Students may borrow 3 books at a time. Once those are returned, they may borrow 3 more.
  4. I will send the student/parent an email when their books are available for pick up. The books will be located in a Curbside Pick-Up bin in the vestibule of our office lobby. Books may be picked up Monday-Friday during the hours of 8:00-4:00. There will be a book return bin there too.

Please email me with any questions or book requests.

Happy Reading!!
