School of Saint Mary FYI
February 17, 2022
Notes from Mrs. Maricle
1. MAP Growth Testing: Reports from the winter testing have been sent home. If you have questions, please contact your child's classroom teacher.
2. Friendzy: The program is going great! Letters for spring semester units are attached. Reinforcement at home makes the program even stronger.
3. Financial Assistance: The School of Saint Mary is committed to a need-based financial aid program that enables qualified students from all cultural, racial and socio-economic groups to attend Saint Mary. Financial aid is awarded on the basis of a family’s demonstrated financial need. The Saint Francis of Assisi Tuition Assistance Program is awarded to families that are active parishioners enrolled at the School of Saint Mary, Go for Catholic Schools and Veritas is awarded to all families based on need. Because many families apply for financial aid, the School of Saint Mary is not able to offer aid to all families, nor can it offer full demonstrated need.
If you are currently enrolled at the School of Saint Mary, you may use your FACTS Tuition account to apply for financial aid. If you are a family new to Saint Mary and do not have a FACTS Tuition account, you may apply for financial aid at: https://www.factstuitionaid.com/facts/gaindex. Only online applications will be accepted. After completing the online applications, you will need to mail or fax the supporting documentation. The tax information needed to verify your application is shown in the FGAA Checklist that is found online.
The deadline for the submission of financial aid requests is April 15.
We recognize that extenuating circumstances may arise after the priority deadline of April 15th. If such a need arises, please contact Fr. Jack Gleason at 918-749-1423.
4. Middle School Basketball Tournament in OKC:
If you plan to leave early for the basketball tournament on Friday, March 4th, you will need to come into the building and sign your player and their siblings out. We also ask that you send us a note (or email) by Thursday, March 3rd, telling us what time you will pick your child/children up (including siblings).
If you are taking someone else’s child, we must have a signed note from their parent by Thursday, March 3rd. No student will be allowed to leave with anyone other than a parent/guardian without a note from their parent/guardian.
Students need to be in class until 11:00 am to be eligible to play.
Cafeteria Volunteers

At the end of each semester, those who were unable to serve the full 10 hours for whatever reason will be invoiced at $15 per missing hour.

COVID-19 Updates
*Week of February 14, 2022-
ZERO CASES for students or staff!!!!
COVID Testing: The Task Force has given approval for families to use either a PCR Test or a Molecular ID Test to return from quarantine. Saint Francis offers a free drive thru clinic that yields results in 24 hours.
Grace and Understanding: This is a gentle reminder that we need to be following in our Heavenly Father's footsteps in giving people grace and understanding during these difficult times with COVID. We field so many calls a day asking for guidance to ensure everyone is doing the right thing. Yes, COVID is real and scary, however, we also have students and staff suffering from seasonal allergies, head colds, pink eye, stomach bugs and various other ailments that could present as COVID. So much is unknown so we need to unite as a community to lift each other up each day and trust that each of us is doing their best for our school.
Note: We want families to be our partners in navigating school during a pandemic. If you have COVID comfort concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's homeroom teacher. We are doing our very best to make accommodations as we can.
The School of Saint Mary Health and Wellness Plan for 2021-22 is posted below. We want to remind everyone that we review data often and we are committed to our plan being an evolving document based on trends in our area.
Reminders....
