Deforestation

Lets take a few easy steps to save forests everywhere!

Forests stop erosion, clean air and water, and slow down rapid climate change. They are homes to many plants and animals, provide timber and food to plants, and 1.6 billion people rely on them.

Ways to Prevent Deforestation:

How To Help:

~The sawdust, shavings, or scraps of wood called by-product could be made into particleboard and fiberboard if we save and reuse it.

~You can recycle many kinds of paper and cardboard saving lots of trees.

~Glenn Hurowitz the Forest Heroes chairman says the ADM can stop cutting down as many trees by making more soy by targeting yield and degraded land improvement.

Health effects:

~Southeast Asia has polluted air and temperature rise because of burning forest to clear them.

~Deforestation results in eroded soil, pesticides, and fertilizers washing in water and communities depend on it.

Happening to forests across the world

The Redwood Forests only have 4% of the original forest remaining and only 2.5% of it is being protected. The low elevation is being threatened from flooding which is why most of the forest is gone.
