Dragon Roar: 09.29.19 Week 7
Daring Greatly in Faith, Academics & Service since 1960
We are blessed. How are we blessing others?
Good evening, dragons!
I hope you have had a restful weekend.
In today's gospel, " Jesus tells the parable of the reversal of fortunes between the rich man and the poor man, Lazarus. Jesus observed that the actions of some Pharisees betrayed misplaced priorities: they spoke one way but acted in another. The story of the rich man and Lazarus demonstrates the importance of the care of the poor and is a reminder to those who would follow Jesus of the unimportance of wealth in the eyes of God." (Taken from https://www.loyolapress.com/our-catholic-faith/liturgical-year/sunday-connection)
Fr. Thumma at today's 5:30PM Mass challenged us to reflect on our blessings and give back to others. How are you as a family giving back to those who most need our blessings?
Here's to the start of October and SOLIDARITY month!
Blessings,
Ms. Salazar | Principal

Solidarity Day (and Month) Heading Your Way!
We are excited to announce that our school community will be celebrating the Third Annual Solidarity Day on Tuesday, October 1 this year!
Solidarity Day is an annual event that will kick-off our National Bullying Prevention Month in October. All Catholic Schools in the San Antonio area come together as a community in observance of National Unity Day . We want to spread a message of hope and show that we are united against bullying and committed to kindness, compassion, caring, and respect.
Please show your support and wear orange on that day. We will all assemble and take pictures of our students as a reminder throughout the year. This campaign was started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011 and is now celebrated around the world.
We hope you’ll take this opportunity to talk to your children about bullying prevention and all the positive things we can do to make healthier communities. For more information on the history of Unity Day and its impact, please click the link below!
