From the Principal's Desk

I am writing to let you know that end-of-year testing will take place on the following dates:

Wednesday, May 25th: Reading EOG (3rd, 4th, and 5th graders)

Thursday, May 26th: Math EOG (3rd, 4th, and 5th graders)

Friday, May 27th: Science EOG (5th graders only)

It is critical that your students be in attendance on these dates and at school on time each morning. Your students are working very hard this year, and we want to give them every opportunity to show us all they have learned. Please make sure you do not plan vacations or schedule appointments for your kids on these dates.

Students who do not score a level 3, 4, or 5 on the first round of testing (i.e. they are not proficient) will have the opportunity to participate in remediation and to take the test again. The tentative dates for the retest opportunities are listed below. Please keep this in mind as you make vacation plans as well.

June 13 - June 15 - Reading Remediation and Reading Retesting on June 16

June 20 - June 22 - Math Remediation and Math Retesting on June 23

June 27 - June 28 - Science Remediation and Science Retesting on June 29

Please call the school if you have questions about testing and/or the dates listed above. We can be reached at: 919-642-7069. You can also reach me through email at

Each week, we will be highlighting some of our K-5 students for receiving a shout-out from someone in the school community. We are so proud of these students for exemplifying CHOMPS expectations throughout the school! Below are the shout-outs for the week of March 7th. Great job, gators!
