Women of the Church to be Recognized on Rose Sunday
Worship on Sunday, December 15
Traditionally, the 3rd Sunday of Advent is Rose Sunday--a time to remember Mary, Mother of Our Lord, and her unique role in humanity.
This year, we will use this opportunity to recognize the ministry and dedicated service of generations of women from biblical times through our current generation here at FELC. We will also release from service the Women's Ministry Committee, as their work continues to be folded into the congregations regular committee structure.
Come on Rose Sunday, December 15th, to celebrate Mary and all the women disciples of Jesus Christ through the ages.

Book Club in 2020
Coming to FELC in 2020: everyone is invited to join the FELC Book Club. You'll want to start reading now, then plan to meet up on Thursday, January 30th at 6pm. Westlake Panera.
The first series of books that the group will read were inspired by the recent adult study class Pastor Ryan led which was based on the video series; Dialogues on Race. The Book Club will be reading a number of books aimed at furthering conversations on race, religion, and listening to one another's story.
Our first book will be:
I'm Still Here by Austin Channing Brown"I'm Still Here is an illuminating look at how white, middle-class, Evangelicalism has participated in an era of rising racial hostility, inviting the reader to confront apathy, recognize God's ongoing work in the world, and discover how blackness--if we let it--can save us all."
When we meet, please plan to have the book read. We'll figure out if we need to meet more than once to discuss this book or if we move on to the next selection.
God's Global Barnyard
All they need for Christmas are: ducks, cows, chicks, goats, or, how about an alpaca?! Your donations will support long-term, sustainable solutions that ensure that good gifts last for more than a couple of days or weeks. Help out a family in need with your donation at FELC.
Donations can be made before or on Sunday, December 15th--the day of the Christmas Program. Pick up your gift tag in Luther Hall this week.
Sign up this week! Friends of Faith--new connections being made
Friends of Faith. Friends of Faith has the goal of linking 5 caring and faithful adults to each of the youth in our Sunday School and Youth Program.
The hope is that each of these adults will pray for the child, as well as support them through conversation and care cards.
For one more week the sign ups will be a display on the main hall bulletin board. Please take a moment to fill in your name on one of open spots on the envelopes, and become a Friend of Faith!
*You can also write out a Care Card. The Care Card station is in Luther Hall.
The Care Cards and sign ups are to be completed this Sunday, December 8th.
