What we are learning:
Mathematics:
Our Math rotations are going great! This gives them the chance to get out of their seats and learn in many different ways including small group with teacher, games, technology, and more!
Students should be working on Red Bird at home to practice math skills. This is a personalize learning tool that is adaptive to their needs, so please do not help them with the problems. This app can be accessed through Launch Pad, or use this direct link: https://fcs.redbirdschools.com/

Reading Workshop
As we come to the close of our nonfiction unit, students are preparing a group presentation about a given extreme weather topic. Students are working hard researching a subtopic within their groups, and they will put all the pieces together to present their findings.
Students' homework will reflect the skills we are focusing on in class, so your student will need to make sure they have an informational text to read at home. This includes all categories of informational text, not just severe weather.
Writing Workshop
We are also wrapping up our opinion writing unit. Students are revising and editing their final pieces. They will have the opportunity to share their writing with their classmates.
**Grammar Workshop!!**
We are excited to announce the arrival of our Grammar Workshop books! We will begin using them in class and at home next week, so be on the lookout for them on Monday. Lessons will be taught weekly at school, and students will be responsible for completing the corresponding workbook pages for homework. Assignments will be due on Friday and will be checked directly from the workbook, so please keep all pages intact. Students should bring their grammar workbooks to and from school daily. Thank you to our amazing PTO for making this possible!
Conduct Cards
Our conduct cards are used to ensure we're preparing our students to grow, and become independent and responsible. With that being said, conduct cards go home everyday. We need these signed weekly every Wednesday.
Students will get the opportunity to cash in for a coupon after two weeks. In order to cash in for a coupon, the students must have three or less marks, as well as the card being signed on each side.
