Cricket cage

A emperor was on a forbidden city. He took out a dust-covered cricket cage from under his chair and passed it to a boy who watched it with lot's of intense curiosity. People the firm will remember this as one of the closing scenes to the last emperor. In the scene it paints of a Chinese cricket culture. There is a tradition of favoring insects and fighting crickets has ancient roots and has been handled through out generations to the present day.


it's like a spoon on some sort of table or platform. It was placed on a cast brown plate called the "heaven plate." The style of the compass is called the "south-pointer."
