Kindergarten - August-Sept. 2015

F. L. Moffett Primary Library

August 24 -28, 2015 - First Week of School for 2015-2016 School Year

First, we discussed the results of the hunt for a gingerbread person on Monday. Every class

reported that they found a gingerbread person on their desk in their room and that they enjoyed eating it. This week we read the book, "Cornelius P. Mud, Are You Ready For School ?" by Barney Saltzberg. It is a book about a pig and what all he does to get ready for school. We also talked about the library and what the rules are when your class comes here. Every one agreed the rules are easy to remember. The hard part is remembering to follow the rules.

August 31 - September 4, 2015

During the second week of school, we talked about the word "independent" and what it means if you are independent. Most everyone agreed that "independent" means that you do something all by yourself. Then, we reread the "Cornelius P. Mud......" book from last week. Next, we made a list of things that Cornelius P. Mud did independently as he got ready for school. Last, we looked at bird cams sponsored by The Cornell Lab of Ornithology at Cornell University in NY. One was a California Condor in California.
