What is Hepatitis?
Hepatitis is an STD which causes inflammation of the liver caused by a virus.
How is the Disease Transmitted?
Hepatitis is transferred through blood or bodily fluids such as vaginal or anal secretion.
Symptoms of Hepatitis
- yellowing of the skin or eyes
- fever
- nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite
- abdominal pain
- light colored bowel movement
- dark colored urine
Treatment for Hepatitis
There is no effective cure, but in most cases, teenagers will recover from the STD and become immune to Hepatitis B
Problems if Left Untreated
- Cirrhosis (permanent scarring of the liver)
- Liver cancer
- Liver failure
