SMART Lunch - Have a Purpose and Plan!
Each day, we communicate to students that they must have a plan for SMART Lunch (both L1 and L2). Students have access to a SMART Weekly Schedule (click link below) and a SMART Plan document each day. These documents will be helpful to families to encourage students to plan their time based on academic/enrichment needs and interests. Thank you for your support in viewing this schedule and discussing it with your child/children.

Social Media Rules
High school teens have their own lives online. They're checking their friends' posts (and sharing their own), watching their favorite shows, uploading photos and videos, playing games, video-chatting, and exploring their interests.
By high school, parents and caregivers hope kids understand the basics of online etiquette, such as thinking before posting, being kind, and using privacy settings. You can also teach your teens to keep a few more things in mind:
Anything on social media can be made public. Remind your teens that anyone can see what they post online -- even if they think no one will. Potential employers and college admissions staff often browse applicants' social media accounts. Ask your teens to think about who might see their profiles and how others might interpret their posts.
Online posts can be cut, altered, pasted, and sent around. Once they put something online, it's out of their control, which means it can be taken out of context and used to hurt them or someone else. Tell them that stuff posted online can last forever. If they wouldn't put something on the wall of the school hallway, they shouldn't post it online.
Avoid drama and hurting others. Help them think about the consequences of forwarding harmful messages or embarrassing photos. It's also hurtful to pretend to be other people by using their accounts or creating fake ones.
Don't post your location. Many social media platforms allow kids to post their locations. Although it might be tempting to use these features to connect with friends, it's just not safe for teens.
Watch the clock. It's easy to spend a lot of time on social media if you're not careful. Hours and hours can go by, which isn't great for getting homework done, practicing sports or music, reading, or spending time with others.
School Counseling Services
Kingsway Regional School District’s school counseling office offers an array of direct and indirect services for students in grades 7-12 throughout the school year. Direct services include services in which counselors directly interact with students. Indirect services include indirect organization and facilitation of meetings and resources with school and community stakeholders.
Direct and indirect services are facilitated by School Counselors, who are primarily involved with college preparation, career exploration, and Tier I wellness support. Wellness Counselors are also available to assist students and families and are primarily involved with Tier II & Tier III wellness support.

Interested In Being a Career Speaker for KRHS
In an ongoing effort to expose our students to a variety of careers and career pathways, Kingsway Regional High School is soliciting interest in volunteers from the community to come in and speak to interested students about their profession. Your visit will be advertised to the whole student body and interested students who sign up will receive a pass to attend your presentation on an agreed-upon day and time. If you have completed this form in a previous year, please complete it again as we start a fresh list each year. Your offer to share your experience, expertise, and time is very much appreciated!
South Media Center Open After School
The South Media Center is now open for students after school. The SMC is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday until 4:00pm. Students can sign in after school at the South Media Center. This is a time for students to work on homework/projects and to meet teachers for additional support.
Student Chromebooks: Expectations for the 2022-23 School Year
Our 1:1 Chromebook initiative supports student learning in and outside of the classroom. The district-issued device is part of each student's necessary classroom supplies, similar to a pencil, book, or paper. All students are expected to attend every class, every day prepared with a fully charged, district-issued Chromebook with the charging cord. We highly recommend designating a location in your home for the device to charge at night and to be easily placed in the student's backpack in the morning. Establishing this routine from "Day 1" is critical. Click here for more information related to our Chromebook expectations.
