Lower School Chorus is a seriously fun singing ensemble of 3rd-5th Grade Lower School students who absolutely love to sing. We will group as a unified group of singers in our skill as musicians and performers, sing songs in multiple parts and from all around the world, and perform both on and off campus for multiple formal and informal performances throughout the year. This requires a lot of dedication, hard work and self-discipline along with a love of music and singing. We will meet on Thursdays after school from 2:30-3:30 in the beginning of the semester and grow to a 2:30-4:00pm rehearsal before our concert circuit begins. This is a year long commitment (students sign up for both fall and spring semesters in September and again in January) that will grow our ensemble from a beginning group to a Superior Festival and Competition ensemble by the end of year when we travel to Carowinds to sing for a panel of judges. We will be showcased at many functions including our PLP Thanksgiving Feasts, Grandparents’ Day, PLP Chorus Concerts, PLP MS and Varsity games, PLP Pride Nights at professional sporting events, the Carowinds Festival of Music, and many others.

This group is where our Lower School HONORS CHORUS is housed and students are selected based on their love of singing, willingness to work in a group, and desire to learn and grow as musicians.

Spielgaben is a set of 14 educational play sets used in a sequence to help brain development. These beautifully designed materials will be used to introduce your child to these mathematical skills: patterning, sorting, counting, geometry, addition/subtraction, multiplication/division and fractions. The Spielgaben design is based on the educational theories of Froebel, the founder of Kindergarten. He believed in nurturing children's creativity and allowing them to discover and learn through hands-on, interactive investigation, looking at patterns in nature and experiencing mathematical , spatial concepts in a real way. Einstein himself played with this type of toy as a child!
