The Executive Board Members
Meet & Greet with the Mayor!
Mayor’s 2nd term
a. Taxes are based on value of home
b. Solar panels reduce energy costs – saved $6 million a year
c. Single stream recycling
d. Capital budget invest in roads
e. Reduce our debt plan
f. Municipal taxes have not gone up
g. Increase bond rating
h. Sustainable energy for our town by the use of electric cars, solar panels to refuel the cars, new business outlets.
i. New outlets stores will be open August 2015 – 120 store fronts, 450,000 square feet, and 800 retail jobs. Hopes to run buses from Outlet area down 42 in a designated bus lane into Camden and Philly.
j. Restaurants, hotels, conference center are the next phase
Hopes for the future:
1. Black Horse Pike needs to develop and make better
2. Bicycle path
3. Bike sharing program
4. Partnering with county planting in greenhouses and using them to plant for landscaping
5. Generate jobs in GT
6. Wants people to spend money and live in GT
Camden County College
- Developing a sports plan to host large tournaments and events.
- Buildings dorms at Camden County Community College (hopefully taxable)
- Gems landfill – trying to get solar panels on it and then sell energy to the college.
Purchased Park – (Glendora across from Glen Landing Fire Co)
- This will be called GT Citizen Appreciation Park
- Names of Volunteers will be posted on Wall of Honor and Plagues on Pillars
Concerns from GT neighbors:
1. We live in GT NOT Somerdale
- To change will need to go through a petition process, ballot for approval and pay for new post office.
2. Code officials involved in fixing sidewalks
3. Bike lane down Roberts Lane
4. Speed bumps/ tables down Orchards and Roberts
a. -This will not happen – None in GT due to emergency responders and people do not want in front of their house
5. Possibly increase stop signs and more police presence
6. Road outside fire house on Somerdale Road needs to be fixed
7. Snow removal was great this past winter
8. Assisted Senior Living sign on Somerdale – getting ready to break ground
9. Can we get Verizon FIOS? (Verizon stop laying cable in NJ, they have no plans returning to NJ- stuck with Comcast)
10. Black Horse Hotel Land- no interest
11. Grants available - $500 grant earned by volunteering to clean up GT 3 times 1 hour each. Contact Joan Eller through GT

- 25 active members at the end May - doubled 49 members as of today - Goal is 110 members by May 2015

- Adopt a family - through Chews - need donations
- November 12 -meeting (the store house ) Food pantry donation
- Gabriel Davies tavern - 4 woman needed to decorate - all natural
- Joanne- call in reference in Gabriel taverns
- Dec 21st - Santas Ride- need cookie donations
- Ideas: post Santa’s route and text location, trim trees for Santa
- Ronald McDonald house - They take in mothers and family when a child is ill. They have family dinners and activities every night at 5:30. Allow 8-10 people at a time. Can contribute by making food and desserts. Can also plan activities. Hopefully will get 2 dates. Located in Camden next to cooper. Typically 21 families. Members of Broadmoor can only participate.
