February is Black History Month
Ideas to warm up your February
It’s February: the month of love and valentines and very chilly temperatures. Here's another activity to promote warmth and connection!
BUILD A BLANKET FORT.
Who doesn’t love a blanket fort? (And anything with blanket in the title is sure to promote warmth). You can wing it on your own with a few chairs, blankets and pillows, or you can read here for more detailed instructions. For optimal warmth and connection, be sure to grab flashlights, a few great books, and get in the fort and read with your kids.
5 Essentials Survey - Survey extended through March 15
We need your assistance! :) Every year we ask parents to complete a climate survey for their child(rens) respective school(s). http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/
The window closes March 15! We value your feedback and utilize it to improve our schools. Thank you for taking the time to help us in our school improvement efforts.
Thank you!

Box Tops Collection
The Monopoly game has started again at Jewel. There may be box top coupons! Please feel free to send those in to school and we can enter them for you!
Shop with a teacher
Big Hollow will be hosting our first annual "Shop with a teacher" event. The purpose of the event is to give back to the community. The food pantry is often depleted after the holidays and we want to help the members of our community by replenishing the supplies. Our goal is to fill a bus! The event will take place on February 26th at the Jewel in Fox Lake from 4:30 to 7:00 pm. The Big Hollow Teachers look forward to joining you as you purchase some items for the food pantry.
Hope to see you there!
