Reminders for Success

Students are required to be in their classrooms when the tardy bell rings. Failure to be in the classroom will result in a student being counted tardy. The accumulation of tardy slips has an impact on attendance; most importantly, students who are not in class on time miss valuable instruction and learning. Encourage your Buff to be in class on time every time.

The dress code at Marshall High School strictly forbids halter tops, blouses/shirts in which midriffs can be seen, and any apparel that does not cover a student's undergarments. Additionally, skirts and dresses must be no shorter than 3 inches above a student's knee. Tights may be worn along with a shirt that covers a student's back side and bottom. Parents, please be certain to review the dress code and ensure our Buffs are in compliance and ready to learn when they walk through the doors of Marshall High School. Access the Marshall High School Student Handbook for additional dress code information.

Time management is key to optimal success! Is your Buff maintaining a calendar? Do you see your Buff actively engaged in reading, note-taking, studying, and preparing for classes? Check your child's binder and notebooks for class and ask what he or she is learning. Thumb through agendas/calendars and look for evidence of test dates, homework assignment due dates, and school events. If you can't find it or don't see it, encourage your Buff to produce it! Our Early College AVID course expects all Early College Buffs to implement the organizational practices learned in class.
