Computer Class Updates
5th Grade
Our fifth grade students have been busy this nine weeks! They have just completed their Social Studies Acuity test and are en-joying a little downtime before break. This school year we are utilizing Learning.com as a supplement to meeting our technology standards. They have learned basic components of the computer such as toolbars and menus, windows and controls, to composing and enhancing slides in Powerpoint.
4th Grade
Our fourth grade students have just completed Science Acuity testing. We have learned computer basics as well as Microsoft Publisher, Word, and PowerPoint. Along with Learning.com, students have utilized their computer lab time to work on a multitude of classroom projects.
3rd Grade
Third grade students have been hard at work this 9 weeks! We have learned how to create and save documents, how to install a network printer, and our regular computer basics. Students also enjoy ReadingEggs.com where they read books, complete quests, and take quizzes to earn eggs. They use these eggs to “buy” fun items for the apartments.
2nd Grade
Second grade students have accomplished so much this nine weeks! They have conquered the desktop, processor and I/O devices, windows and controls, toolbars and menus, symbols of technology, formatting text, and are now beginning to learn to type! They have started the home row this week and will continue with upper and lower rows after break.
1st Grade
First grade students have been having a lot of fun this nine weeks. We have learned many fun things in Microsoft Word. They can format text, tell you about fonts, create their own fun colors, and add a border. They also love using Raz-Kids.com and Readingeggs.com. (Pictured above, some of our students after a long day at the Children’s Museum!)
Kindergarten
I am always so proud of how hard our kindergarten students work and how eager they are to learn new things! Almost all students can login to the computers without any help and they can navigate to their favorite websites like Abcya.com and PBSkids.org. They can also format text in Microsoft Word and love to read me the exciting stories they type!
Just a few of the amazing fifth graders that occasionally help during kindergarten computer lab. They aid in teaching kindergarten to login into their computers and how to navigate to websites. We are very thankful for our helpers!
