Copyright and Fair Use

Copyright law provides you with the control over how the material you created can be used by others.
The "fair use" provision of the copyright statute allows for the reproduction of parts of copyrighted materials without permission of the copyright owner.
Fair Use Rules:
Media: Up to 10% or 30 minutes, whichever is less, of the total piece.
Text: Up to 10% or 1000 words, whichever is less of the total piece of text material.
Music/Songs/Lyrics: Up to 10% but in no event more than 30 seconds, of the music and lyrics from an individual musical work.
Photographs: Photograph may be used in its entirety but no more than 5 images by a photographer.
