Academic Updates
Homework will be posted on our website on Mondays and will need to be signed and returned to your child's teacher electronically on Fridays by 12 p.m. for recording purposes. NO late work will be accepted. Please refer to our First Grade Semester One Syllabus as needed. As a friendly reminder, we do receive weekly analytics reports for completion on all electronic platforms. Homework will now count as a percentage of your child's grade.
Please allow your scholar to complete all writing portions of their homework. This is beneficial and necessary practice to improve on formatting (penmanship, capitalization, punctuation, spacing and spelling) and writing in complete sentences. This also gives them an opportunity to take pride in their work. If you notice any errors in capitalization and punctuation, consider it as an opportunity to discuss and correct those errors. If you notice misspelling in any of their 220 sight word goal words, please correct.
Please ensure that you are working with your scholar on logging onto their safety nets consistently. Please allow them to start entering the websites and login credentials independently. This will allow for a smooth transition during our scheduled lab time and will help us to maximize our time on our safety nets. Also, continue to practice navigating on a computer (i.e pulling up Google Chrome, adjusting the sound on the computer, etc.).
If you are missing any login credentials for any of the safety nets (all listed on the weekly e-blast), please notify your child's teacher immediately
*Continue to work with your scholar on reading comprehension using text evidence to answer questions. They should also be transitioning to being able to identify the main topic and at least three key details and supporting details for given text.
The designated weights for Infinite Campus: CW-45%, Assessment for Learning 25%, Assessment of Learning 30% and Assessment Prior to Learning 0%
It is very imperative that you allow your scholar to complete all pretests (mainly MobyMax) independently. This is important because the system sets all future activities to their levels once pretests are complete.
Students should be ale to read their homework sentences that are submitted on Fridays independently so please be sure to practice.
