Day of Theater Showcases

The Day of Theater Showcases were held on March 14th and included original scene work, scene studies, Shakespearean acting, Mime projects, Commedia del arte performances and directing projects of all the students in the Theater program.

Class Feature: Theater Workshop 1 & 2

This full - year, intermediate theater course covers topics such as original monologues, audition preparation, film studies, commedia del arte, mime/pantomime, multi-media projects, poor theater and play/scene study. Period 6 was lively this year with a spirited group that could be found wearing masks, filming scenes for our latest project, or happily rehearsing a project for the stage.

Senior Theatre One Acts

For the past 18 years seniors who have completed the entire Theater Arts sequence have had the opportunity to create and direct their own one act projects using actors within our program. The event has grown in size and scope and entails two afternoons of different projects presented for free for the community. It is a vital part of the curriculum of the Rudiments of Directing class we offer through Adelphi University at our school.

Audiences, once again, enjoyed the Senior Theater One Acts that were performed on May 20th and 21st in the Little Theater.
