Ferdinand Magellan was known for sailing all the way across the Pacific Ocean. He sailed to find Western Sea route to the Spice islands, in Indonesia. Ferdinand was sponnsered by the spanish king Charles I . He died In the Philipenes, on an Mactan island. He was shot by a poisoned arrow and was left to die.

Ferdinand Magellan was born in 1480. He died April 27, 1521. In his early years he was a page in the Portuguese court. His older life career was exploring, he was known for proving the world is round and not flat. Ferdinand was from Portuguese, from Sabrosa, Portugal.
