Grand SLAM Professional Learning
Gifted Students Learning About Mindset
Take Me Out To The Ball Game!
August 10-11, 2015
The Gifted and Talented department is excited to announce the fourth annual Professional Learning Conference for teachers and administrators. Come learn about meeting the needs of your gifted and advanced learners, learn practical strategies to incorporate best practices into your lesson design, and network with other professional educators.
America's greatest past time, baseball, perfectly complements the growth mindset culture we are fostering in our classrooms as we work together to help our students develop the their skill set and become lifelong learners.
Join us from 8:00-4:00 on either August 10 or 11 at McKinney Boyd High School as we prepare to 'knock it out of the park' during the 2015-2016 school year.

Did you watch Lifetime's 'Child Genius' last season?
Meet Lisa Van Gemert
Humor. Reality. Efficacy. Power. Passion.
Lisa Van Gemert from American Mensa and Lifetime's hit show Child Genius, will be speaking to conference participants about working with gifted students.
Audiences love Lisa’s message of doing everything easier and better through smartification. Using a combination of neuropsychology, pedagogy, humor, technology and sheer fun, Lisa shares with businesses and schools and conferences worldwide how to do what they do better.
An educator by training, Lisa shares best practices with businesses, schools and education conferences, specializing in the gifted. She’s known as the Gifted Guru and the Ambassador of the gifted, and what she’s learned from knowing gifted she translates into solutions for everyone. She’s learned that GT stands for “Good Teaching” and “Good Thinking” as much as “Gifted and Talented.”
