EARTH
This is some facts about Earth. It takes one year for the Earth to orbit around the sun. It takes one day for the Earth to spin one time.
Sun
The Sun is a star and is found at the center of the solar system. Although it is far away, it only takes eight minutes for light from the sun to reach Earth. The sun is very hot; its core is around 13,600,000 degrees Celsius (sciencekids).
Seasons
The Earth travels around the sun once each year. As the Earth changes position around the sun, the seasons change. There are four seasons. When we have Winter. It gets colder and will snow. During winter many animals have a hard time finding food and go to sleep. This long sleep is also called hibernation. June 21 is the first day of Summer, and is the longest, sunniest day of the year. Between the two are Spring and Fall. In the Fall, the farmers pick all the crops they planted in the Spring (easyscienceforkids).
