Boosters Crab Feed Packs Herzog!

PHS Athletic Booster Crab Feed = Another Winner!

Thanks to an extraordinary team of many, many people, the PHS Annual Crab Feed was another night to remember. The event was a sellout yet fit nicely into the new locale at Herzog Hall. The behind the scenes folks are still tallying up the totals but it looked like a good night for PHS Athletics. Thank you to all of you for supporting the event and the student athletes. Though I will inevitably leave people out, I will mention the following: Judy Robison, Antoinette Butts, Phoebe Ellis, Michelle Goddard, and Barb Brooks. I know there were many more of you - thank you all! Thanks also to the student athletes who volunteered, served the crab, and cleaned up our mess!

Classic Game at Senior Night

The new PHS gym rocked and rolled Friday night as the crowd watched three well-played and close games versus Analy High School. First, Analy managed to win the freshmen, but PHS JV boys pulled out a tight game to balance things. Then it was on to boys varsity and perhaps the first truly significant game in terms of league titles in more than a decade. Though the Trojans led most of the way and seemed to have the run of play, it eventually came down to a couple of plays at the end. Despite that, there was a shot to win in the final seconds that wouldn't go down. Analy by one.

Still, a packed gym was there to let the seniors know how much we appreciate their efforts this season. Our eight outgoing seniors have taken this squad to new heights and put the PHS mens program back on the map. After closing out the regular season this week, it will be on to the SCL Tourney and hopefully a berth in the NCS playoffs to come.

LUMACon a Smashing Success!

The Second Annual LUMACon was bigger and better than the first, thanks to the intrepid efforts of PHS and Casa Librarians Connie Williams and Nathan Libecap. They welcomed almost 2500 people into the Lucchesi Center last week to talk with comic creators, to practice paneling, to roam Artists Alley, and to generally immerse in the fabulous world of reading and creation. For another angle on the day's events, see this link to attendee Brian Fies blog: http://brianfies.blogspot.com/

It is wonderful to have creative and energetic libraries and librarians in our midst!

JUST IN: Lenaea Festival Success!

From drama teacher Jonathan Knox:

Hey David. Great news from the Lenaea Festival Competition! Leah Richter and Ellis Scherer received command performance for their original student written duo scene performance. We also medaled the respondents choice for a song by Violet Deardorff and our one act play received GOLD for the black box theatre. An amazing run this year for Petaluma and our Troy Performers.

Well done, Troy Drama!
