Rocket Review
Week of November 22, 2019
Last Week in November!
This year is sailing by quicker than ever before. This will be the last Rocket Review of November, as we only have 2 school days next week. Should anything arise that needs to be shared out, a separate email will be sent through School Messenger.
Report cards should have come home electronically on Tuesday, November 19. If you did NOT receive a report card, please contact Melissa Roth or Sharon Skebo in the main office to verify your email address in Power School and make sure you have a Power School Parent account established. Our next report card will come home in late January, so there is time to get Power School up and running before the next report card is sent home.
Morgan is participating in a Wellness Weekend over the Thanksgiving break. Your students will not have any projects to work on over the break and no tests to take the day we return from break. Our staff is also participating in the Wellness Weekend, taking a break from Morgan work to enjoy their time with family and friends. Take this time to unplug with your children, relax, play, and spend quality time with your family and friends.
Please remember to call the absence line and leave a message if you choose to have your child miss school on Monday, November 25 and/or Tuesday, November 26. Morgan has two FULL days of school next week.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families! We have so much to be thankful for at Morgan Elementary, especially our supportive, caring Morgan families. Thank you for sharing your children with us each day!
Have a great week!

Wellness Weekend Over Thanksgivng
Recess Outside or Inside
20°F Recess is held outside
15-19°F Wind conditions will determine recess location
14°F or Below: Inside Recess
We use Weather.com and Accuweather for updates and temperature readings.
If temperatures are between 15° and 19°, the wind chill factor will be considered. A low windchill will warrant an indoor recess.
It is important that children dress appropriately for winter weather: boots, hats, gloves/mittens and a warm coat. All students are expected to participate in recess. Fresh air and physical play help develop fitness and increase children’s ability to focus during learning times. Generally, if a child is well enough to attend school, they are well enough to go outside for a short break and to get some fresh air.
A doctor's note is required to excuse a student from recess for more than 2 days.

Summit Ski Club
Eisenhower NHS Tutoring
Parents may register their students by submitting a request located on our website:
http://ikenhs.weebly.com/eagle-tutoring.html.
This will allow us to prepare adequate tutors for each subject matter. We ask that parents complete the form by Sunday night each week in order to allow us to organize the correct number of NHS students.
Their goal is to provide a safe and productive environment for both students needing help and our NHS members offering their service. Additionally, a staff member will be on site every week checking in registered students and monitoring the sessions.
Looking for Lunch Monitors!
Looking for help on Monday, Tuesday and Fridays!
If you would be interested in helping in the lunchroom, please fill out a lunch monitor application with EduStaff. A link to the application can be found below. You will need to create an account, enter your information, complete some online training modules, and have a background check with finger prints. Then you can work as many lunch days as you would like and be paid for your help!
Several of our lunch monitors also complete additional training in EduStaff to serve as substitute paraprofessionals in our building. If you are interested in becoming a substitute paraprofessional, please use the EduStaff application process below.
If you have questions about becoming a lunch monitor or the online process, please contact Melissa Roth in our main office at 586-797-5800.
