Monday Memo
The week of Monday, February 3, 2020
Happy CTE Month!
We certainly had an eventful week last week, and I am not talking about my experience. Health care programs held an awards ceremony for our in-house HOSA competitions. Student officers did a great job honoring the top three places in each category with medals.
Students from Marketing and Natural Resources enjoyed an action-packed, fun-filled, entrepreneurial experience with a pitching contest for the CEO challenge with one Marketing team winning third place. Congratulations to all who participated! Students now have the opportunity to create a unique business concept that they will pitch in the “shark tank” at the Launch event scheduled for March 21 at Baker College in Jackson. Students have the opportunity to win cash prizes and scholarships.
Best of all, we are going to have an early spring according to Puxatawny Phil! I hope each of you have a great week!
Congratulations to our Souper Bowl Soup Cook-off winners!
3rd Place - Jake Graf (soup H)
2nd Place - Lisa Bachman (soup E)
The Golden Ladle Winner - Sue Ritchey (soup F)
The winning recipe: Tortilla Soup
Tortilla Soup
In a crock pot, add two chicken breast (I use frozen ones but they can be fresh), 1 can of corn, 1 can of black beans, a can of diced tomatoes, a packet of taco seasoning, a jar of salsa (I used medium), and a cup or so of water. Just dump it all in the crock pot and let it simmer on low all day.
Pull the chicken apart. Serve with sour cream, tortilla chips, cheese, and cilantro. Easy and Good!
This makes about 4 servings
If you entered a soup into the contest, please send your recipe to Jenny. Each week I will share a new recipe.
