From Your Plank South Leadership Team
Plank South Families,
We hope you all had a great weekend! Unfortunately our beautiful autumn seems to be over, but this is really a great time of year for us in school. During these first two months the kids are adjusting to their new classes and new routines, but now is the time of year when the kids really dive into the learning. We look forward to seeing you at our Open House on November 16th at 6:30pm when the kids will be able to show you what they are learning and how they are owning their own learning at Plank South!
One other new piece of news is that starting this month, all report cards and progress reports will be shared electronically via the Parent Portal. There will be more information coming on this as we get closer to the time when you can access these reports.

We are so excited that Poetry Day and Night are just around the corner. Please make sure your child fills out the Poetry Day Application if they are going to participate. All the information and rules are right on the application for you and your child. After you fill out the application with your child, attach the poem and send it in to their teacher by Thursday, November 9th. They will still have time to practice after that. For over 20 years Plank South families have generously donated gently used items for the winter season that we provide to Enrico Fermi School #17 in Rochester. School #17 is an inner city school with 90% of the students living at or below poverty level. Many of the students are homeless, living in shelters or temporary housing. Your donations ensure that they will be warm this winter!
