Attendance Matters
Did you know that children can suffer academically if they miss 10 percent of school days? That’s just a couple days each month. Absences add up, whether they’re excused or unexcused. This September, join the Attendance Awareness Campaign and let’s work together to help all kids attend today so they can achieve tomorrow.
Reducing absenteeism requires that we work together — at home, in our schools and our communities to get children to school every day.
The video below from Attendance Works features parents talking to other parents about reducing absenteeism. Filmed in schools across the country, the video offers tips for parents and schools to improve student attendance.

Panther Football Staff of the Week - Loren Brown
Last year the WHS Football program began a new tradition where the team would select WHS staff as "Staff of the Week" and present them with a game jersey, an invite to the team dinner, and opportunity to join team captains on the field for the coin toss at home games.
For Week 2 of the 2019 season, captains (Seniors-Nathan Black, Riley Kunz & Nathan Blauman. Juniors-Camden Sirmon, JJ Jelsing) have selected CTE teacher Loren Brown as the WHS Panther Football Staff of the week.
